I’m writing a post simply because I’m so sick of seeing the pink Bayswater. Nope, I didn’t get it in the end.

I haven’t been writing because there hasn’t been much to report. My energies are mainly focused on work right now. I shall only blog when I have something that is actually of interest to blog about. Recently my life mainly consists of working and going home to veg out in front of the tv watching cheesy taiwanese drama serials. What’s there to write about?

My nails are a mess… would love to bling them up again… let’s see.

Mulberry Bayswater in Ostrich

I already have a Bayswater, but it’s in the usual leather in a dark red.

Then, I saw this!

Fuchsia ostrich leather large Bayswater bag with two handles. Mulberry bag has silver hardware, a brown lining, hidden buckles at the side to expand the bag, a zipped and an open pouch on the inside and a padlock tag attached.

At £1,885, it’s worth some consideration.

Mid-Autumn Festival in Singapore

This Mid-Autumn festival I spent listening to free outdoor concerts by the Singapore Philharmonic Winds and Singapore Symphonic Orchestra. What’s Mid-Autumn without the lanterns?

I still maintain paper lanterns are more fun and those new gadget-y ones that are battery operated and chimes cheesy tunes.

Bishan park… seems like the rain did not dampen many people’s spirits.

Freebie: Bike Fest mobile cleaner

Guess what Kel gave me?

Haha, NOT the mobile phone. But the niffy mobile cleaner (the little round thing I have attached to the phone). The other side of it is in a nice, soft, spongy material, and is used to clean fingerprints/grease/dust/etc off your mobile. Cute huh?!

And … yeah… I know I’ve got a LV wallpaper. Stop laughing at me… wanna see my Chanel one?

Restaurant review: Dome ~ Dempsey Hill

I love the ambience of this Dome outlet.

I’ve been here twice. The first time, I had the lamb from the chef’s menu only available at this Dempsey outlet. And it was good!

The second, I had this…

Onion Soup

Gourmet Pie

I had the pie wi th the chicken and barley filling, while my friend had the beef stroganoff. Mine was too salty, and for him, the beef was too tough! So it was slightly disappointing.

But, Dome does serve up a nice cuppa.

Giant supermarket at IMM

Yes, this supermarket chain is called Giant. Well, its’ relatively huge.

I was amazed at the fish market section, and the fact that they have live eels and catfish! Yes, live crabs and prawns I’ve seen aplenty… but the selection here…

I will never forget how Mum once asked her friend to get some live prawns from Giant, for our Chinese New Year’s Day steamboat. As no one would be home except me, I was tasked to give the prawn a wash and transfer them from the plastic bags to containers and place them in the freezer.

What followed was a combination of creativity and agility, as I scurried around the kitchen searching for long-handled utensils and deal with prawns that threatened to hop all over the kitchen floor. It’s funny to think about, but not funny when it happened. And me? Who is scared of a few flapping prawns, am going diving? I must be crazy.

Beauty rave: BB cream

Blemish Balm, or otherwise known as BB cream, is all the rage now in Japan and Korea!

It has just come into Singapore, but not much selection is available. Places to get them are Sasa or Robinsons.

However, I asked my Korean colleague about those brands retailing here and she told me they are low-end brands in Korea! She came down for some training so I got her to buy BB for me from Korea, and she handed this to me today!

It is not cheap though, at USD40 for a 40g bottle.

What IS BB?

I have done some googling on it but hey, I’m not the expert, so I’m going to provide a link.

http://www.makeupforlife.net/2007/12/bb-cream.html

“The BB Cream, aka Blemish Balm, is *the* hottest beauty product in Asia right now. The product was originated in Germany and used by dermatologists to help patients who have gone through laser skin surgery soothe and regenerate the skin.

Soon after, Korean celebs started using the cream and a craze was born. Big companies then took the idea and turned it into a product widely available to the public. The new product is suitable for all skin types, especially those with sensitive and acne-prone skin. It has the advantages of both a makeup and skincare product. It can even out skintone, camouflage undereye circles, acne scars and add radiance to the skin without the heavy mask-like effects of a foundation. Prolonged used of the product will also help improve the overall texture of the skin and fade acne scars.”

Doesn’t that just sound simply great? I’ll start using it and will edit this post going forward to add on my review.

Day One

Using this for the first time today. The cream is very light, not thick, and thus I’m pleasantly surprised to see that a little goes a long way. It provides light-medium coverage and is quite sufficient to even out pigmentation and cover small spots. I was a little concerned on whether it would be too oily as my colleague told me that BB creams are usually oilier, due to the fact that they were firstly formulated for use after laser treatment, and the oil creates a sort of a protection barrier to the skin. I was advised to use with powder.

I discovered that it’s fine really, and just a little powder is needed to

Restaurant review: Indochine Waterfront ~ Empress Place

I usually enjoy the fare at Indochine very much. It’s very tasty though can be pricey. I do get terribly thirsty after… a sign of… *ahem* excessive MSG in the food. Disclaimer: I could be wrong though!

I usually dine at Siem Reap II or Bar Opiume. It was also at Bar Opiume that I got my VIP card.

The lunch we had was disappointing. Whether it was because we were dining at the Waterfront Restaurant instead, or that our group is too large I wouldn’t know. Service was crappy, too.

Restaurant review: Grill Out ~ Sunset Way

To be honest the food was not very impressive. And after being in Australia my standard on the definition of a good steak has definitely been set pretty high! Prices are ok at about $30 for a main course? But compare that to the taste factor I must said it is not very good value.
